Harriet Gillies

Harriet Gillies is an award-winning performance artist, dramaturg and director. She makes interdisciplinary, digital, durational, participatory, immersive, and hybrid contemporary performance. She has presented works across Australia, New Zealand, Europe, North America, and Taiwan. She has been supported by arts organisations and government agencies at regional, national and international levels, and received professional artistic mentorship from acclaimed international artists Lynsey Peisinger, Robert Wilson, and Marina Abramović.

Her creative practice explores the internet and the role it has played in the changing psychology and social structures of society. She explores these ideas through a deeply non-linear, queer, and nihilistic frame. She is passionate about making work that allows audiences to sit inside paradoxes - experiences that are at once silly and emotionally profound.
